Jonathon's ordinary life in modern-day Scotland is haunted by dreams of warrior mystics from Ancient China. The dreams increasingly manifest themselves in his life, helping him to fight off attackers with martial arts he has never learned, allowing him to read a Chinese language he has never seen before, and bringing with it mystic abilities he can scarcely believe.
Jonathon embarks upon a three thousand year old mission, started by a sect of Dragonwarrior monks who use the mystical force known as ‘chi’. He soon finds himself tracked by masked men who bear tattoos of ancient symbols from his dreams, and he discovers they want to kill him and capture a mysterious girl who seems to hold the key to the future.
To survive, Jonathon delves into his dreams of the past to safeguard the future. He must confront the dark shadow in his life the dream-like ancient warrior presence within him. Only through this figure from his dreams can Jonathon hope to survive the forces arrayed against him, and help the world from the coming darkness.

Wow. Loved this. The intertwining of ancient China and modern Scotland was done superbly. Another reviewer said the plot was far-fetched and difficult to follow; I thought the story line worked beautifully. It was easy to follow and not at all far-fetched. The characters in both ages were memorable and well written. There were a few places where the writing was a bit stilted, as though written by someone unfamiliar with English, but then there were descriptions like this that sent chills down my spine: “…only source of light was the crescent moon that peeked out from behind the clouds like the lopsided smile of a dark-robed God.” There’s a lot more like this.
An outstanding book that will keep you enthralled from beginning to end.

Dragonwarrior Tao of Shadow The Dragonwarrior series Book 1 eBook David Walters Reviews
the books are fast pased and a lot of fun to read I had a hard time putting them down
Tends to get repetitive, otherwise a good read
Frankly, I don't even remember the plot of this one. It was a diversion as I read it, but it certainly did not stick with me.
Interesting plot and details
Easy to read but I was expecting more from this novel, it has a good change of characters but not really thrilling
A great blend of the ancient history of a warrior band in China to the streets of modern day Scotland. Told by weaving the characters in a blend of silk robes and tartan plaid. A very skillful weaver of tales.
I enjoyed the pace of the book. David was able to intertwine two stories and keep the read interesting. The characters were fascinating. His ability to place you in the story was easily done with his descriptive style of writing. Overall great book.
